Elder Bennett for 2 Months!

Guess what? I have been known as Elder Bennett for 2 Months!!!!🤯 here are 2 fun facta about Elder Bennett as a Missionary. 1- I love knocking doors🚪

2- I hate facebook work🤣
This is a long email but it's worth it, please hold as I tell you about my week.

1/15- Today was another awesome p-day in the books. I woke up to reminding myself that I have been out in the field for a month. That's crazy to think, because time flies as a missionary. We went to the gym and I benched like 60 lbs which is pretty crazy for me to do. We then headed off to the good Ole Walmart and did the shopping. When I got back I called the family and talked to them for a while, and then I sent out my last long email. We got back with the other Loomis elders and went to McDonald's and got food and went to Lincoln to play volleyball. I'm kind of loving volleyball. I'm not super good, but it's still a blast. We then headed home and went to our dinner appointment. While at our dinner appointment, the other elders called us and said they forgot their keys in Lincoln 🤦‍♂️. So after our dinner appointment we went to their apartment. They weren't home because they walked to there dinner. So we hung out at their apartment and did some facebook work while we waited for them. When they got back we got in the car and drove to Lincoln and got their keys. We got home super late and called our district and went to bed.

1/16-Today was another good day. We started out with hitting the gym, after we got the physical gains we needed some spiritual gains so we went to the temple. We did Initiatories and Baptisms, if you don't know what that is, it is basically doing work for those who have passed away. When we got done we had lunch at Buffalo Wild Wings. It was a blast with 7 of us elders. (There was 7 because the other Loomis Elders were on an exchange. So they took their companion for the day with them. So that was 6, and we also took Elder Johnson who is a service missionary. He got injured while on his mission in Brazil, anyway he drove us and he is a party to be around). We then came back, and I (Elder Bennett) had a mentor call since I'm new and in my lovely training. After our amazing mentor call we had a study session and I studied for my dinner lesson. After we came home and did a lesson over zoom. We then went to our dinner and it was super good authentic Chinese food. Then it was my time to shine with my lesson, I taught a fire lesson about prayer. We then went to the church and did some FaceBook work. After we came home, then I wrote about my lovely day.

1/17- Another day in the books, today we started out with the gym and I went easy on my body since I have been pushing it to the limit lately. After the gym and getting ready for the day, we went to Lincoln for district council. While we were at our district council, President Basha (Mission President) was there doing interviews with us. The more I'm around him, the cooler he is. I hope the missionaries that read this, think the same about their mission president. After our district council ended I did some more organ practicing, my next video is going to be lit. We then went to a super good Mexican place for lunch. I got a super cheezy and meat quesadilla, it was fire. We then came back and made some daily contacts. Afterwards we went and talked to some people/Formers. We talked to a lot of cool people. One person we talked to works for a movie/film production company. After our super cool contacts/ tracting we went to our dinner. I taught the same lesson about prayer as I did the day before. It was a lot better because the more you do something, the better it becomes. We then went to the 3rd ward's young men's. They were playing JackBox, it's a game kind of like Kahoot. I played before my mission, it was super fun. We then came home/walked downstairs🤣 and did more studying. That's about it, nothing too crazy.

1/18- Today was a pretty good day, we did alot of service. We started the day off with the gym like always. After the gym, we did our daily studies. I finished 2 Nephi and got farther in my 90 day challenge. We then went to our first service project. It's a non profit organization called LEOA (Love Each Other Always). It's basically where people can come get food but if you help set up and organize the food you get first pick. It's actually kind of a cool thing. They have a big truck that comes with food from the food pantry, they unload the food then the volunteers help unload and organize it on tables. After that's all done, people line up and volunteers/us tell the people how many of an item they can have. We had like 150 people there, which is a big group for them. While we were there, there was a guy who had a heart attack 😬. They of course called 911 and I hope he's okay but I haven't heard anything. Fingers crossed for him. After that service project was done, we went back to our apartment and had lunch. We then went to another service project where we just raked leaves. After that service project we went to dinner and it was super good. They had this chicken stuff and those Hawaiian rolls. Super premium of a meal. We then went back to our apartment and I packed for our exchange that night. The zone leaders came and we started our exchange. I went with Elder Hermansen, he is from Kamas Utah. He's a super cool missionary, we went back to Lincoln and we played Go fish with the other elders in that apartment. That's basically it for today. Just service projects and exchange.

1/19- Today was an amazing day, I learned a lot while on my exchange. We started out with getting ready for the day. Elder Croft (Another Elder in the apartment) taught me how to pray in Spanish, he would say something and I would repeat it. I actually did pretty well with it, so that was a cool experience. We then had our studies and I studied a lot in Mosiah in the Book Of Mormon. We then did some contacts with people and they went pretty well, we then went to a really good pizza place called Old Town Pizza. I had a barbecue pizza that had pineapple on it, it was super good. It was really hot and I burned the top of my mouth with it. 🤦‍♂️ We then went to the dollar store and got a poster board for a lesson we had. We went to our lesson and I learned a super cool way to teach the Plan Of Salvation. The spirit was super strong in the lesson, I almost cried like 3 times. I kept asking myself “Why am I crying, I have taught this lesson before?” We then went tracting and looked for a person that got referred to us. Ya we couldn't find them, we call those fake referrals and they are kinda miserable to do. We then went tracting in another neighborhood. We walked like 2 miles and it was raining the whole time, and I was just in my white shirt and I was soaked by the time we got back to our car. We then went to our dinner which was also fire. And then I came back to Loomis. And called it a day by 9:30.

1/20- Today was a wet day. It rained all day long, but the more it rains the more people that are home. We started off with the gym like always. I biked on the stationary bike and man I wore my legs out🤣. After the gym we went to a member's house to help them move, we were like 30 minutes late. Whoops, we forgot about it😬. When we got there they were already done loading the truck, they work fast around here. We then came back and did our studies and I taught Elder Koyle a way to teach the Plan Of Salvation lesson. We went to the church and did our weekly planning. After our weekly planning, we did some tracting and nobody was interested. We then went back to the member who is moving, we helped him pack some things up. It was kind of nice since it was really raining and so it was a break from that. After packing boxes and hearing stories, we went tracting some more. One house went too the guy was mad at us since we were “interrupting” his 49ers game. He also called us Mormons crazy 🤣. He was not interested at all, but the next house was a member and he was super kind. We then went to our dinner which consisted of Taco Soup with Elk meat in it. It was super good, when he mentioned there was elk meat in it. I got up and got more because that's how good it was. We then went to a member's house and taught them the Plan Of Salvation with the new way of teaching it. The lesson went super well. After we came home did our nightly routine, and went to bed.

1/21- Sunday is my favorite day of the week, I have decided since I have become a missionary. We started out with our mcm meeting and 3rd wards sacrament. We then went to their Sunday school. After that ended we went to the 1st wards sacrament meeting. Afterwards it was to there sunday school and their mcm. After our meetings at the church we came home and had lunch. We then did our studies and by this point it was time to go to dinner. We had sourdough pizza, it was actually really good. The son in law and I are besties. We talk about construction and trucks alot. We were cracking jokes and laughing so hard. After dinner we came home and did some Facebook work. We then did some more training. That was it for today

That's it for this week. Nothing to crazy just rain and getting spiritual and physical gains. This past week I did the dinner lessons. And I talked about prayer alot, I want to extend an invitation to you. Will you say your prayers with a purpose? Alot of people say the same prayer over and over again. I want you to say a different prayer at least once a day. I will see how you did next week.
