NO toilet paper and being quarantined!😷
Hey guys, this week was a super crazy last week in 2023. I know this email is long, but it's worth a read, I promise. Without anymore anoucements please enjoy the relaspe of 2020
Tuesday-P-Day 12/26, We started out with going to the gym. I tried to squat weight, and lets just say I'm not meant for that. The most my little stick arms could do was like 40 lbs. (Basically the weight of the bar itself). We then went home and got cleaned up for the day and went to Walmart. I got some stuff to make my mom's homemade cookies. 😋 We then went to Boot Barn and I could never shop there. If I did I would be broke, like we went cause another elder needed a belt, but don't stress I didn't buy anything. After all of the shopping we went up to Lincoln to meet up with the other elders in my zone. We went to a place called KOBE, it’s a hibachi place and it's fire. I had never gone to a restaurant like that before and it was so cool. 10/10 (see pics). We then went to the church and played pickleball, they weren't my best games but I tried my hardest. While I was at the church, I wrote my last email and called the fam. We then came back to Loomis and went to a member's house for dinner. We had a taco salad but with rice and it was so good. We even had mango salsa and mango salsa is my new favorite salsa. We got home and we got a call that the people we has Christmas dinner with, tested positive for covid. So that's always an great end to an awesome day (NOT🙄)
WEDNESDAY 12/27, first day of quarantine. We started off with going to the gym, I rowed like 1,000 Meters on the rowing machine cause I thought why not, it can't be any different then starting a lawnmower that doesn't wanna start🤣😜. Ya it wore me right out. When we got back to our apartment, Elder Koyle and I decided to take a covid test cause why not. We both tested negative so that was a relief. We then called our mission nurse cause we are supposed too, and she said since my comp and I don't have the covid shot or booster we have to quarantine for a WHOPPING 5 DAYS. So here comes quarantine for the NEXT 5 DAYS😥🫣😬🤦♂️. After hearing this kinda miserable news and being mad, we decided to make the best of it. So we started playing card games. We played Unstable Unicorns, UNO, Monopoly the card game, and cover your assets, like 20 times each. I lost 95% of the time. But it's okay because Koyle is like a professional. We then studied for a little bit, and then our dinner appointment brought us food. (How sweet of them), it was sweet pork burritos and it was super good. We then did our nightly routines and went to bed because we were both already so tired and tired of being stuck in this apartment. This is going to be a Long MISERABLE 5 DAYS.
Thursday 12/28, Day 2 of quarantine. We started out the day by waking up at 6 then falling back asleep till 8:30. We then did personal study, I studied/marked in my 90 day BOM challenge. I am now ahead like 5 days, which is great. We then left our apartment, and looked at a park for sport night tomorrow night. We then came back and did comp study and role plays. We then had lunch, and Koyle made these spicy chicken wrap things, and they were pretty good. We then called every person we have come in contact with in the last year basically. We then played card games and koyle still won all of them. We then did interactions which is basically, we reach out to those people who interact with one of our mission pages. (Follow Christ) we then had dinner, and our OG dinner plans went out the window cause of you know why. They brought us tacos from a place called Jimboy's and they were actually super good. We then played some more card games and then I wrote in my journal and called it a day. That's really it for today, just cards and people.
Friday 12/30. Today was a pretty fire of a day. We did lots and lots of Facebook work. I added a lot of people and posted a story. We then did more Facebook work and then Elder koyle noticed we were out of toilet paper 🤣🤦♂️. You're probably asking yourself, “How do you run out of toilet paper?” I thought the same thing honestly.I knew we were getting low and thought we had more, then koyle used the rest of it.🙄 We then called the other elders and asked the embarrassing question, “Do yall got any toilet paper we could have?” I hated asking that question. Thankfully they did so we went over and got it from them. We then did more FaceBook work, then the family we live with invited us for dinner out by their fire. Since we figured we kind of live in the same place as them, it would be fine….. So we did!!!! We had soup and rolls and it was honestly super good. We then came back in and did some studying and hit the hay. So today was nothing but reliving 2020, by no TP, more quarantine and FaceBook work!
Saturday 12/30, today was another day chuck full of facebook work. We started out with doing our personal study and I'm now 5 days ahead in my 90 day Book Of Mormon challenge. We then joined some groups on facebook. So of course I had to join the Chevy square body page, the off-roading pages, the old car pages. You know, the fun pages, or at least to me anyway. We then went on a walk around the property, (trying to not get fat). We then went to CVS to get 2 covid tests for today and tomorrow. Your probably wondering, (why do you need so many covid tests?) Well here’s why, tomorrow is day 5 of quarantine, which means we have to test tomorrow. But we thought if we tested positive, we could start our quarantine today. So we tested again, and again we tested negative. So tomorrow we got to test again, so we can prove we are negative to our mission nurse. We then talked to a lot of people over facebook. Then a member brought us dinner. They brought us Tamales, they are super good. We then talked to more people on facebook. That’s it for today, just lots and lots of facebook work.
Sunday 12/31. Last day of 2023. Thank goodness this year is pretty much over, but more on that in the next paragraph. I started out with making some fire breakfast burritos for us. We then did our personal study and I read a lot in the book of mormon. Then it was time for church, since we were quarantined we couldn't go to church. Our wards we cover do live streams but only on YouTube, which is a problem because we can't access YouTube. But do not stress, we watched my homeward sacrament meeting. You're probably wondering “how did you get your zoom link?” Well my mom sent me the link last Sunday, because she wanted me to watch my homewards christmas program. I didn't 😥😬 sorry mom!!! But the same link she sent me was the same one we used today which is awesome. After basically watching my own wards sacrament, the other elders stopped by and said hi. We chatted and they brought us doughnuts from their linger-longer thing. We then did some facebook work and I posted an awesome story on my Facebook. I also designed one but I guess as a missionary, you can't post political statements? Idk, I don't consider it a statement but whatever. (Look at pics😉) we then had lunch and it was some pretty good sandwiches. We then did some more Facebook work and talked to a few people on messenger. We then cleaned the apartment and did MORE FACEBOOK WORK🙄. It's actually kind of fun sometimes, but I've done more than I wanted to this week. We then had a frozen pizza for dinner and played some card games. I am actually getting better at card games. We ended the night with some more studying and our nightly calls and went to bed. Nothing too crazy today, just facebook and church.
Alright let's talk about 2023 shall we? I'm basically gonna hit the highs and maybe some lows. Well I guess we will start at the beginning of the year. In January I was diagnosed with Crohn's disease. If you don't know what that is, it's basically where either your bowls either work too well, or they don't work. I am now on medication for it, and I'm living life to the fullest. In February, nothing really happened much. I basically did some iron infusions, because my iron levels were low. In March I applied for the Utah Aerospace Pathways program. Which basically is a program for highschool students to go and intern at an aerospace company in utah. I was picked and they put me Parker Commercial flight controls. Its a company located in north ogden. So I spent 6 weeks there, in the evenings after school learning how hydraulic parts for airplanes are made.In April, I finished the Utah Aerospace Pathways program and basically graduated from it. I also finished up my composite program at the Ogden Weber Technical college. May was a super crazy month, I graduated from OWTC. (Ogden Weber Technical College). I finished my truck, and I GRADUATED high-school!!!🎉. In the summer months I just mowed lots of lawns, grew my business like crazy and turned 18. I also had my French foreign exchange student, Henri, back for July. And I got my mission call to the California Roseville Mission, which is where I'm at now🤪. Nothing crazy happened in September, just kept mowing lawns and started preparing for the mission. Then in October, I went through the temple for the first time. And prepared more for the mission. In November, I finished getting ready for my mission. I got set apart as a missionary, did home mtc, then went to provo mtc. And in December, I finished the mtc. I became a resident of California. Met my new comp and tried to start teaching people.
That's my year in a rundown, nothing crazy just graduating from a lot of things, working a lot and of course starting the mission and here I am today. 2023 was a great year. Now let's make 2024 even better. And with that, the 2023 season comes to an end goodbye. And MAY GOD BLESS.
