Don't stress! Im alive, and sorry, what?+ 15 months 🇺🇲
So I feel like I need to apologize to you for not writing the most entertaining email you receive on Mondays! But in all seriousness, sorry you haven't got an email from me. I have been super busy with missionary work, social media stuff, transfers, and moving. But Elder Johnson has been sick the past 3 days, so we have been home doing tons of social media work. So I figured I would write you a letter telling you about my past 3 weeks! So grab your soda of choice and let's ride through these shenanigans!
So I am just gonna give you a review of the past 2 weeks and what we have done this week! So let's start with what has changed since we last talked. So we had transfers, and I am staying in Yuba city. Which is honestly surprising, because I was told at the start of my mission that I could only stay within 20 miles of the mission office to pick up my medication! So I always planned to serve in the south of my mission. But now I am serving God's Children in Yuba City which is outside of my allotment. But I wont complain, because I love Yuba City and plus I still am able to get my medicine. So I am staying here in Yuba City with Elder Johnson, Yep! The same companion for 3 transfers. But we get along really well, so it's good! And unfortunately, we lost Elder Huber to Chico. Yep! He went up to serve in Chico! But we hoped that staying in the same ward we wouldn’t have to pack up our stuff. Well……. We had to move apartments, our area now has 2 full time proselyting missionaries and us. So there are 4 of us covering this thing, and so the other 2 elders are in our old apartment. And we moved farther out of our area, it now takes like 10 minutes to get to our area, but it's fine because we are still in a car! We also moved into a brand new to the mission apartment. So we spent the first few days unboxing things and moving in, and making this place feel like home. We also live with 2 of the Spanish Elders. So it’s a party to hang with them, and I think that's all for crazy things. We also have 3 people on date to be baptized. So that’s pretty exciting, because I haven't had any baptisms on my mission.
Alright, let's talk about this week. So overall, it was a pretty great week. And like I said Elder Johnson has been sick for most of the week. So we didn't do much, but I will tell you what we did do.
So on Monday, we started out by going to the temple and cleaning it. I have had the privilege of doing Yard Work when I have been there. And it has always been a dream of mine to do landscaping at a Temple! So it’s been a party living my dream, but on monday we were powerwashing all the curbs around the temple. And it was a party, just making things clean for the lord! We then went and got pizza with the Tarwaters, the Tarwaters are a missionary couple from Arizona who help and support the work in Yuba City. It was fun to sit down with them, and to learn more about them. They are a super cool couple, and the food was okay. We then went to Walmart and got our weekly groceries. We then came home, unpacked the groceries, and cleaned the apartment. We then went to the stake center, where there was an intense game of kickball. So of course I had to join the game, and it was a blast. I of course played hard and got a pair of pants super muddy. I then played the piano and called my mom. We then went to a Card Store so the other elders could buy some magic cards. And honestly it was the weirdest card store I have ever been in. It was in like a smoke shop, but it didn't smell like a smoke shop. We then went to the thrift store, just to waste time and look for random shenanigans. Well long story short, I bought a full on air fryer for 4 dollars. And may I say, it was the best 4 dollars spent. We then went back and I called my dad and his girlfriend. It was a blast hanging out with them. We then went home and called it a night.
On tuesday, we started out by going to a lesson! And it went okay, the lady Sheri is oj Date to be baptized so she's progressing. But her friend George isn't, he doesn't see a need to join a church and so we taught the plan of salvation to them, and he kind of got bashy. But we shut it down pretty quick with testimony and scriptures. We then did our studies, and then went finding the rest for the day. But nobody was down to talk besides a dope member who attends a different ward. The poor guy is going through so much, but he's kicking strong. But it was fun to talk about hunting and trucks! We then went to dinner. We then went to the ruiz's house. So the Ruiz family are returning members. And so we go their house every tuesday and friday night. It is honestly a party there, we jammed out on guitars and talked about the temple! And it was all going good until the craziest thing ever was said. So we were sitting there talking and the wife (Kelly) says to everyone in the room, “Know how we have always wanted a boy?” Everyone's eyes got about as big as the moon! Everyone was looking at her like keep going, don't stop talking. And mind you, they have 6 girls. Aging anywhere from 21-3, they are foster parents. So she continues to say “well, your dad and I have been trying. And we just found out we are having a boy!” Everyone is freaking out, thinking about what just happened. And I said “wait, sorry, what???” and so everyone is like wait, what just happened. And then Kelly goes, “guys we are getting a new dog!” Not a kid😂. Bruh I honestly didn't know how to respond to that. So that was a crazy end to our night.
On Wednesday, we had DC and contacts. Literally nothing crazy happened.
On Thursday Elder Johnson woke up sick, so we spent the next 4 days inside doing nothing but him sleeping, and me doing social media. So I will probably end the email here because nothing else happened, that's crazy enough to talk about.
Anywho! I hope you have an awesome week! I love you!
